Definition of Essay:

Usually, every person has defined an essay in their way. The definition, according to me, is writing about a particular topic. Or we can say that every debatable topic in written form is an essay. Maybe the topic is related to problems, location, and many more.

Literally, we can define it as an attempt or giving a try to something. It is the same as the contextual meaning, which is explaining a topic in your way but by giving evidence or proof.

Parts of Essay:

Basically, any essay is divided into 3 parts.

1:- Introduction

2:- Body

3:- Conclusions

Explanation

Introduction:

As the name indicates, introducing a topic is what we are going to cover in that very essay. In the introduction of every Essay, there is a sentence called Topic Sentence

What is Topic sentence?

Topic sentence is a short summarized line or it can be two lines or even a short small paragraph within an introduction paragraph. Here in this line, you give a short, brief summary of the topic you’re going to discuss below.

Body:

In Body paragraph You give an explanation and detail about your topic. Basically, the body paragraph is divided into two parts

Number one you give out an explanation of the main idea and give evidence and proof about your main idea.

The second part is that you give a supporting argument or supporting details about your main idea.

Note: The body paragraph doesn’t need to be just one paragraph. In the body paragraph, you go into detail and you are giving an explanation to your topic, and then you also give supporting ideas as well which can exceed one paragraph. And that is ok. The body paragraph can be 2 or 3 or 4.

Conclusion

In the concluding paragraph, you give a summary of the whole essay you have written and your assumptions or your own views about the topic you have explained.

The next thing we are going to discuss is How to write an essay?

There are many steps before you start writing the essay but some of the main points or the main steps are given below:

  • Choose your topic  : The first and important task before writing an essay is that choosing your interest. Decide what you want to explore.

  • Claim : The claim is the main argument.

The reason why the argumentative essay is different from other types of essay is that here you put claim and than you give the possible solution for that as well. Meaning You are discussing two brands for example the two clothes brand WARDA and MARIA B(in Pakistan) Here you give arguments about both of them but you will taking side of any one of them giving your reader proof why you are on that side or why that one brand is better than that one.
