Presentation is an art of presenting and explaining something new ideas or your views about the particular subject given to a particular listeners or audience.

Simply we can conclude a Presentation in one word as “informative talk”.

For example if you are launching a new housing scheme, than your presentation must contain where your scheme is means the location, the price of each plot, the roads, the schools, the parks, the hospital and many more details about your housing scheme in your presentation.

Similarly in University, if you are assigned for presentation in a particular topic, you must be giving your views and ideas about a topic. And you will be covering the topic from every perspective and clearing the audience.

Why is presentation important?

Presentation is important because it can give a clear detail about the particular subject. A more depth about particular subject. Here, audience any objection or confusion is cleared because they will be questioning you and you will be clearing their confusion. Similarly a new ideas and a new view can be the results of Presentation about the particular topic.

How to do an effective presentation?

Now we will be talking about some general terms regarding presentation and will be explaining little bit all of them that what does that actually means and how to follow that.

Presentation skills :

You will be going or would have gone through many tips about presentation skills. But the basics of them are known as the 6 P’s of Presentation, which is a little bit discussed here.

Prepare:

First of all prepare and motivate yourself for presentation that you can do it. Secondly organize your subjects accordingly so that your ideas are arranged properly and there is no confusion for the audience.

Project:

Confront and speak to your audience. Not look here and there because you will lose concentration. As a result you will lose connection with your audience and they will not get you and you will have to repeat again and again. Which will be a totally wastage of time.

Pronounce:

Say your words clearly and with proper pronunciation so that the audience can get u easily without any difficulty. Use proper accent.

Pace:

Speak a little faster than your normal talk because you have a less time for your presentation but not that much speed so that no one can get what you are saying.

Pitch:

Keep your voice fluctuate because some words are to be pronounced with high pitch others at low. And keeping your tons variable catch great attention of the audience as well as it keep things interesting.

Pause:

Take a short pauses. Do not speak continuously. Because you are making things understandable to them not only talking. And the best way to pause is to engage audience in your presentation. You can ask about their ideas or suggestions, when they start talking, you have a time to pause.

How to look confident during presentation :

For presentation you will have to look confident and will be having trust on your own self. There are some tips below to look confident in your presentation.

Know your audience:

Know your audience what they want to learn from you. If you get to know, you will be confident about yourself that the things they want to know are with me and I have prepared it from every side.

Practice yourself:

Before going to presentation, practice yourself in front of your roommates or class fellows or the best way is to present yourself in front of mirror. Do practice until you perfect yourself.

Eye contact:

Make an eye contact with your listeners or audience. Do not lose eye contact because you will lose attention and your presentation will be spoiled.

Use gestures:

You can be good at you presentation by involving gesture. Keep your hands moving and point it towards if something is being written by you to be explained.

Avoid fidgeting:

It is totally OK to be nervous. But do not show it to your audience. Do not bite your nails, do not shuffle back and forth, do not twirl your hair. Take a deep breath, a short pause and back yourself to normal.
